Year of Establishment :- 1961

Right from the beginning of the college,department of Physical Education & Sports started to work i.e.in 1961.

Mr. M.S. Vyawahare (1961 to 1994)has played major role in the development of our department.

Mr. Avinash Asnare worked in the department from 1995-2002 .

Miss Savita Khotte was the first girl student to be selected in Amravati University Basketball team.

At present two permanent teaching staff Dr. Madhuri Y. Kopulwar is working as Head, Director Of Physical Education & Sport ( Professor Grade) & Dr. Ajay V. Chinchmalatpure Director Of Physical Education & Sport ( Professor Grade)

Dr. M.Y.Kopulwar received 2 State Award and 1Regional Award. she represented State Masters Games at Pune in Hockey2019-20 won Gold & Selected for National masters games at vadodara.

Highlights of Department

          The college has Ground of Volleyball, Basketball, Cricket(Misharikotkar)of parent body). Also have facilities for Table Tennis, Power Lifting, Best Physique. Now college have Indoor Sports Facilitiese.In the UGC 9 th plan Health centre along with other fitness gears has constructed in the college premises, our Education society provided funds for 12 station multi –gymnasium Till date 88 Students have been sel.ected in the SGB Amravati team to represent Inter University tournament and awarded colour in their respective games.

76 students have proved themselves as they got selected at district,Regional,state and national Level. Teachers of this department work on various bodies of Amravati University.

During silver jubilee staff tournament of SGB Amravati University,our department has prepared,guided and motivates staff team who have participated in various games. The staff team of Adarsha Mahavidyalaya was winner of Volleyball game.
